Hi! I’m Brittany (she/her),
Your metalhead Therapist!
Values and Perspectives
My perspective was shaped by queer, neurodivergent, metal, and alternative communities—spaces that taught me to question the status quo and build real belonging for anyone outside the mold. Therapy shouldn't be about bending yourself to fit a rigid world; it’s a space to reclaim your life on your own terms.
I bring my whole, authentic self to our sessions—band tees, honest talk, and an expressive face that makes "blank slate" therapy impossible. For me, a lot of healing relies on humor, authenticity, creativity, intuition, and the radical permission to rest. I care about the full picture of who you are: your neurodivergence, your identity, your history, and all the clever ways you’ve navigated a tough world. You are a complex human being, not a diagnosis to fix or a problem to manage.
I tend to be a very present and intuitive person and therapist. I pay close attention to what’s living beneath the words—the subtle shifts, gut feelings, and unsaid moments—so we can respond to what is actually showing up without judgment, shame or criticism.
You don't need to perform, mask, or have it all together here. Whether you're burned out, navigating a neurotypical world, or just exhausted from trying to squeeze into boxes that were never built for you—you belong here. Bring your messy emotions, your special interests, and your whole self. Let's step out of survival mode and build a life that actually feels like yours.
Outside of therapy
On a personal note, I’m a queer, neurodivergent human, a parent, partner, and friend continuously doing the work to unlearn systemic and intergenerational trauma while learning to build more community. I’m also a Covid Long-Hauler who has navigated chronic illness and pain for years. Outside the office, I’m learning to play the drums—holding onto the dream of one day playing in a band and opening for some of my favorites. I also enjoy weightlifting (so I can smash the patriarchy!)

My Approach
My approach is collaborative, practical, flexible. Here are some things you can expect when we sit down together:
Mapping Your World: We start by looking at the bigger picture—not just your internal thoughts, but the external systems, histories, and expectations shaping your daily life.
Making Room for the Hard Stuff: Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we focus on changing your relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions, moving away from constant internal battles so you can conserve your energy for what actually matters.
Clarifying Your Core Values: We get clear on what a meaningful life looks like to you—not your boss, your family, or society—and use those values as our compass.
Translating values into real-world change: Insight is great, but life happens outside the therapy room. We build committed actions together—taking small, tangible, and realistic steps that turn your values into actual shifts in your daily routine.
Deep body and trauma work: Talk therapy alone doesn't always clear out deep trauma. We bring in Brainspotting and somatic healing to access where your brain and body is holding onto past stress, allowing your nervous system to process and release pain on a different level.
Real-Time Attunement: We don't just talk about theory; we pay attention to what shows up in the room—somatic cues, stress responses, and intuitive hits—so you can build real-time self-awareness and trust.
